Bill and Renee Today
I was plowed back to Vance AFB as a T-38 instructor for a few years, then transitioned to fly the H-3 Jolly Green Giant helicopter - not what I had planned for my aviation career. As that helo assignment came to a close, I was not able to agree with MPC on a next assignment, so I elected to get out of the Air Force. Although I tried, I was not able to get on with an airline (too old by then, I was 31), so I ended up in the Washington DC area supporting government programs as a systems engineer. We moved back to Florida while I was working for Xerox (spent most of my time traveling for the company). Eventually, I retired here after working for Tribune newspapers - it was a pretty good run for me.
Renee and I have 2 sons - one married with children living in NJ, working in Manhattan - and one living in South Miami living the life of the bachelor. Renee "retired" from work when we moved back to Florida in '98, and continues to enjoy her life here in the sun. Our house is also blessed with Mike and CJ, our two pups. Mike is a small Pomeranian with a big dog attitude, and CJ is the Sheltie with the most gentle spirit. They do keep us entertained.

Our Grand Kids
Our son Matt and his beautiful wife have given us three exceptional (of course) grandchildren. Isabel is now six, has lost her first tooth and broken her first board in Karate Class. Ava is three years old, loves puppies, and loves to sing. Matthew was born in November and is a beautifully serene little boy. They live in ” Fairy” Haven, NJ.

Bill's Hobby Hot Rod Shop
Some folks collect stamps, some collect wine, but my sickness comes with a real estate problem. I have always been a car guy, but now that I no longer have the responsibility of raising children and worrying about work, I am able to focus my time on the car passion. Although I have sold a few of the cars I have gathered over the years (still regret selling them), I still do not have enough room for my hot rods - do not want to leave them out in the elements. Below are some photos that chronicle the car thing - Renee supports my hobby, she thinks it keeps me off the streets and out of trouble.
The Cobra replicar to the left is not a kit - through a friend, I found a fellow with a body mold - had him make one for me, and went to town from there. I made the frame from 2x4 tubular steel, and then cut an welded what needed to be done to bolt up a corvette suspension. I located a real 1966 race 427 engine block and built up a great running motor for the car - runs and sounds great. come down to Ft. Lauderdale and I will take you for an eye-popping ride.
Below are some photos of other cars in the garage.
