Dick and Sandi Today
Join the Air Force and see the world-- from about 35,000 ft! --- From Enid, Sandi & I travelled to Castle AFB for B-52 School. Then it was on to SAC and Grand Forks AFB . When we arrived in early Feb ’73 it was a balmy -10F with 20mph winds. We lived in a TLQ (basically, a motel room) with a little baby for three months waiting for base housing to open up. Great start. Most all takeoffs and landings were from Grand Forks. I did have a short stint in Thailand/Guam –thankfully a few months after they quit bombing in Vietnam & Cambodia. When they offered early outs right after the war was over we grabbed it. We moved back to Yakima, Wa (our hometown) to be near the grandparents who weren’t doing well. I settled into a job as a Sales Rep for a large fruit company. About 11 years ago, after a stint at another company as Sales Manager , I decided to change careers and became a financial advisor for RBC Wealth Management, ( my current job). We still live here in Yakima and have raised three sons and now have three grandsons. Sandi retired from her position as a Registered Nurse at one of the hospitals here a few years ago and spends a lot of time with the grandchildren now. Retirement for me , hopefully in 2-3 yrs. Looking forward to seeing everyone in C-Springs.
