Cliff, Judy, and Grandchildren Today
Following UPT, Judy and Cliff settled in with our new twin daughters, Nikki and Dusti for a tour instructing on the T-38 at Vance. The Air Force then thought a tour at the School Squadron at Randolph would be a good idea, but when they wanted to follow that up with a coveted tour to Del Rio in T-37s, Cliff raised the handles and squeezed the triggers. Fortunately the separation from the Air Force landed Cliff in a job flying for TWA. Though furloughed for several years, Cliff has many good memories and feelings toward TWA, and the furlough got him back in the Reserves at Richard-Gebaur AFB in Kansas City, flying C-130’s which eventually transitioned over to A-10s. He eventually retired out of the Reserves with 9 years active and 11+ Reserve as an LtC. Meanwhile, Cliff flew for TWA as a 727 engineer, L1011 engineer, DC-9/MD80 F/O and Capt. and was fortunate enough to get to fly for American when they bought TWA. Cliff also felt fortunate that the change from age 60 retirement came after he turned 60, so Judy could not suggest he keep flying for a few more years. We now live in Rock Hill, SC (just south of Charlotte, NC), while our daughters still live in Kansas City, …both are married and we have two grandchildren that Judy goes back and forth to see on a regular basis. We look forward to seeing everyone soon.
