The Tiger Photo
Joe and Joan Today
After UPT, we went off to Fairchild in Buffs for about 5 years, with a little SEA time as part of it. I went to AFIT at Colorado State University and got an MSc in Physics. Went to the Pentagon for three years, Minot for two, ACSC, and then Griffiss for about 4 1/2 years. While there, I ended up as the Sq/CC of the 668th Bomb Squadron. I did about 2.5 years as the SAC Liaison Officer at Los Alamos National Laboratory and then retired.
I worked at Los Alamos as a weapon engineer for another 13 years and left to be a filthy, overpaid contractor at STRATCOM working for Northrop Grumman. I did that for three years and am now a humble, underpaid, lowly civil servant. I decided that I'd control my existence for the last few years I work. I do analysis on the effects of nuclear weapons, specifically EMP and the effects of nuclear weapons and space weather on the power grid.
Joan volunteers with Red Cross and has deployed during two national-level emergencies. Locally, she's been on the fire response team and has run shelters during our flooding last year as well as for other local emergencies. She supported me during 20+ years in the AF and 14 years in New Mexico. it's my time to do it for her.
We have three great kids who are all in Colorado. I am sure that we will end up there in a few years.
The pictures were taken on cruises.
I am working an issue with my Aunt; she's my last living relative. There may be several trips back to Philadelphia this summer. I still hope to come to the reunion.
